Storage Guide: Peptides, Aminos & More

Not sure where to keep your peptides? Here’s a simple breakdown:

Lyophilized (powder)

  • Cupboard: 30-60 days
  • Fridge (39°F): 2-3 years
  • Freezer (0°F): 10-20 years
  • Deep freezer (-40°): 20-30 years
  • Ultra-low freezer (-80°): Indefinite

Reconstituted (mixed with BAC water, or other reconstituting agent)

  • Storage: Must be kept in the refrigerator at all times after reconstitution (typically 36–46°F / 2–8°C).

    • ⛔Do not freeze after mixing.
  • Shelf Life

    • Most peptides are considered stable for up to 4-6 weeks after reconstitution when stored properly.
    • This can vary based on the length and complexity of the peptide sequence.🧠Important Clarification
  • If your peptide is stored beyond 4-6 weeks, it doesn’t become instantly ineffective. Rather, gradual degradation begins to occur — meaning the potency may decrease over time, but there is still active peptide present.

    • The rate of degradation depends on the specific compound, storage conditions, and how often it’s accessed.

    • Use visual cues (cloudiness, color change, floating particles) to help assess usability.

    • Always label your vial with the date of reconstitution.

  • Bacteriostatic Water

    • Store in a cool, dark place **(**e.g., a cupboard or drawer at room temperature) or the refrigerator.
    • Unopened: Refer to Expiration Date printed on the vial.
      • Note: Multiple lab and user tests have shown that unopened BAC water often remains viable beyond its expiration date. However, use your own discretion when deciding whether to use expired BAC water.
    • Opened (pierced): Official guidance recommends discarding 28 days after first use.
      • Important Context: This guideline is based on clinical settings, where vials may be pierced several times a day under less controlled conditions.
        • Many peptide users report continuing to use BAC water well beyond 28 days without issue, especially if it’s stored properly and accessed with sterile needles.
        • Again, use your best judgment, and discard the vial if it appears cloudy, contaminated, or compromised.

Keep it simple:

Powder = Freezer ❄️

Mixed = Fridge

BAC water = cupboard or fridge

🧪 Storage Guidelines: Aminos & Amino Blends

Amino acid blends (like L-Carnitine, Lipo-C, or Super Shred-type injections) are typically pre-mixed liquid solutions that will come in an amber colored vial. They are easier to use than peptides but still require proper storage to ensure safety and potency. Before Opening (Unpierced Vial):

  • Room temperature is usually acceptable unless otherwise stated on the label.
  • Store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight or heat (e.g., a cupboard or drawer).
  • Always check the expiration date and avoid freezing the vial.

💡 Some amino blends may include vitamins (like B12 or B6) or lipotropic agents that are sensitive to heat — cooler storage is better when in doubt. After Opening (Pierced Vial):

  • Store in the refrigerator (36–46°F / 2–8°C) once the vial has been punctured. This is to help prevent bacterial growth.
  • Use within 30–60 days depending on the product and frequency of access.
  • Label the vial with the date of first use.

🔍 Visual Check: If the solution becomes cloudy, discolored, or develops particles — discard it. Key Tips:

  • Do not freeze aminos unless explicitly instructed.
  • Avoid leaving the vial at room temperature for long periods after opening.
  • If injecting IM or SubQ, always rotate sites to avoid irritation.
